It was nearly over,
The entire world destroyed and abandoned, She was gone.
My thoughts were as blank as snow.
The slate-coloured water similar to a dark hole, trying to suck me down,
And started to drop.
Imagined myself plunging into the icy water,
A fast death.
But then I saw clouds in the distance,
I was sure I’d glimpsed her eyes.
I saw her face just beyond the horizon,
The wind whispered to me.
It was her voice.
Insistently urged me on,
Reminding me why I was still here,
And what I needed to do.
So I kept moving forward,
Mile by mile.
I would get there,
Whatever it took.
The world may have ended but some things survived.
